Roof & Solar Inspection

Get a complete picture of your roof and solar panels without anyone setting foot on a ladder. Our FAA Part 107-certified pilots fly a high-resolution and thermal-imaging drone over your home, then deliver an annotated report you can hand straight to your roofer, solar installer, or insurance adjuster. Most inspections take under 30 minutes on site.

Deliverables

What's included

  • Annotated high-resolution photo report: every defect (hail hits, wind damage, cracked shingles, flashing issues) labeled with location and severity
  • Georeferenced orthomosaic map — a scale-accurate, top-down composite of your entire roof with area measurements
  • Insurance-claim documentation package: GPS-tagged damage photos, defect inventory, and a written summary formatted for adjusters
  • Solar panel check: thermal (infrared) scan that spots hotspots from failing cells, wiring faults, and soiling, plus visual checks for cracks and corrosion
  • Digital delivery of all images, video, and report files you own and can share
How it works

The mission, step by step

STEP 1Book and confirm: we schedule a visit, verify airspace rules, and give any required notice (e.g., to your HOA)
1/4
STEP 2Fly: a licensed pilot captures the full roof and solar array in about 10-20 minutes of flight time — no one walks your roof
2/4
STEP 3Analyze: we stitch imagery into an orthomosaic, review thermal data, and annotate every finding
3/4
STEP 4Deliver: you receive the full report, typically within 24-48 hours, ready for contractors or an insurance claim
4/4
Questions we hear

FAQ

Is a drone inspection as accurate as someone walking my roof? For documenting surface damage, measurements, and thermal moisture or hotspot detection, drone imagery is typically as good as — and often better than — manual photos, because the drone safely reaches steep and high sections a person would avoid. A drone can't physically press on decking or flashing, so we recommend a hands-on check before committing to a major structural repair.
Will my insurance company accept drone photos for a claim? In most cases, yes. Insurers increasingly use drones themselves after storms, and clear, well-labeled photos of hail and wind damage with GPS locations and measurements help adjusters process claims faster. We format our documentation package specifically for adjuster review.
Do I need HOA permission, and what about my neighbors' privacy?Rules vary by state and community. Our pilots hold the FAA Part 107 certificate required for commercial flights, fly only over your property at inspection altitude, and capture only your roof and exterior. If your HOA requires advance notice, we'll help you provide it.
How do you check solar panels without touching them?Failing solar cells give off excess heat instead of producing electricity, so they show up as bright hotspots on our infrared camera. We pair the thermal scan with standard photos to confirm cracks, soiling, shading, or damaged components — pinpointing which panels need service.
